An improvement to the Lutana Moónah bus service was sought by a deputation from the Lutana branch of the A.L.P." which waited on the manager of the Tramways Department (Mr. Murn).
The deputation was introduced by Mr. Neilson, M.H.A., and was accompanied by Mr. Connolly, M.L.C.
It asked that buses from Lutana in the early evening be speeded up to provide an additional trip to cater for passengers attending picture theatres; that a bus leave Moonah at 11.30 p.m.; and that Lutana be provided with an earlier bus on Saturday mornings to cope with passengers attending football matches.
The deputation asked that the 5.15 p.m. bus from the city should complete the full route of the Lutana area.
Mr. Murn said the department was anxious to improve the service but there were difficulties because of labour shortages. He thought some of the matters raised could be attended to satisfactorily.
